All the children participate in our religious education programme called Learn Together.

The Kilkenny School Project N.S.

The Kilkenny School Project is a vibrant, progressive primary school meeting a strong demand for an education that is multi-denominational, co-educational, democratically managed and child-centred. All the children participate in our Religious Education programme called Learn Together. There are no fees and pupils are admitted on a non-discriminatory basis according to their date of application for enrolment.

The School follows the Department of Education and Science curriculum for National Schools, we adopt a child-centred teaching approach and parents are encouraged to involve themselves in their children’s education.

In addition to Learn Together, denominational religious instruction classes are organised in the school by denominational groups. These are organised by parents and taught by qualified instructors. Inter-group celebrations are occasionally arranged among the groups.

The principle of co-education is expressed through equal participation in all school activities.

Our school adopts a child-centred approach.

Who can go to the School?

Any child of primary school age (four years upwards) is entitled to attend the school. Children are accepted into the school depending only on available places and the school is open to all, irrespective of religious, social or cultural background. You can enrol a child any time after birth to start in a specific year in the future. There is a pre-enrolment policy in operation, allocation is on a strictly “first come, first served” basis. Should you wish to send your child to the school, you should fill out a pre-enrolment form and return to the School. (download enrolment form/policy).

Strong home/school links are fostered, resulting in a sense of community and common purpose among pupils, teachers and parents.

The school teams field both boys and girls.

We are recognised as a green school.
